"Annette" Iris Swinson

Funeral services for Iris "Annette" Moore Swinson, age 89, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in White Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Yzenski and Chaplain Daniel Gillam officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Ms. Swinson was born August 18, 1934, in Dublin, Georgia. She was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. She was cofounder and promoter of Piney Woods Lake Bluegrass Festival, where she enjoyed working at the concession stand and serving others. She loved to bake and cook for family and friends and loved spending time with her children, sister Jaunice, grandchildren and other family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thadis and Lucille Garrett Moore, her husband, Howard Swinson, her siblings, Fleeta Rountree, Bill Moore, T.H. Moore and her son-in-law, Billy Wood. Ms. Swinson passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at her residence.

She is survived by her children, Charles Howard Swinson (Terry), Wanda Swinson Wood, Edwin Dana Swinson, and Larry Wayne Swinson (Sheila Payne), all of Glenwood, sister, Ola Juanice Morton of Rentz, grandchildren, Tara Renee Veal (Jason), Wendy Wood Baggett (Gabe Ramsey), Patrick Charles Swinson (Jamie), Nathan Howard Wood (Sandy), Megan Marie Pena (Chris), Justin Edwin Swinson, Brandon Wayne Swinson, Heather Dawn Swinson, and Blake Tyler Swinson (Somer), 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Howard Wood, Patrick Charles Swinson, Brandon Wayne Swinson, Justin Edwin Swinson, Blake Tyler Swinson, Hunter Dewayne Veal, Peyton John Veal and Christopher Joseph Pena. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of White Springs Baptist Church and John Jason Veal.
