Arthur Paul Gates

Mr. Arthur Paul Gates, age 71 passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at his residence in Laurens County.

Mr. Gates was born June 23, 1953, in Spangler, PA. He was the son of the late Orris Harris Gates and Daphne Alicia Blake Gates.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Terry Gates, Jeffery Gates, and Kevin Gates. He retired from the Construction Business. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during where he served a tour in the Vietnam Era as a E-4.

Mr. Gates is survived by his daughter, Holly Gates McElhaney; brothers, Chalmer Gates of Akron, Oh, Tom (Gracie) Gates of Akron, OH, Robin (Nancy) Gates of Clarksville, TN, Michael Gates of Akron, OH; sisters, Darlene Weckerly of Port Charlotte, FL, Janetta Finnesan of Akron, OH, Leanne Weakland of Westover, PA, Sandra Rinesmith of Tallmadge, OH, and Nancy (Don) Wilson of Glen Campbell, PA,; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

The family would like to mention Floyd Langley and Bud who live in Florida and Georgia for many years for there great friendship to Mr. Gates throughout his life.

Funeral Services will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Gates to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org or to a local animal shelter of your choice.
