Graveside funeral services for Baker Lavette Oliver, 84 will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Smith, Rev. Matt Reece and Rev. Stanley Mills will officiate. Mr. Oliver was born April 16, 1936 in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Grady and Mattie Lou Holton Oliver. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sara Hall Oliver. He was a retired bus driver for Johnson County School System. He was a member of Tuckers Grove Holiness Church. Mr. Oliver passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital. Mr. Oliver is survived by his son, Bruce (Robin) Oliver of Wrightsville, a daughter, Lynn (Donnie) Carter of Wrightsville, 2 brothers, Billy Oliver of Juliette, and Bobby (Sonja) Oliver of Tarrytown, sister, Patricia (Glenn) Mathis of Wrightsville, 6 grandchildren, Krystal (Jim) Tanner, Kasey (Lindsey) Carter, Kelli (Jimmie) Johnson, Will (Sidney) Oliver, Brittany Barfield, and Alana (Cody Hutcheson) Oliver, 9 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Carter, Emery Carter, Ava Johnson, Bentley Johnson, Carter Tanner, Brianna Tanner, Sara Kate Tanner, River Oliver, and Emerson Smith, and a four legged Austrian Friend, Abbie. Pallbearers will be Bobby Hall, Otis Wiggins, Nick Holton, Jim Holton, Dylan Pettis, Joe Oliver, Colton Kersey, Dakota Prince, Eddie Tanton, Bray Hutcheson, Danny Howell, Joe Sumner, and Grayson Kersey. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. Oliver at 871 Bill Oliver Road, Wrightsville, GA 31096 and immediately after the graveside service. Social Distancing guidelines will be in effect, and seating capacity will be limited as we are following the guidelines of the local health district and the CDC. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Baker to Tuckers Grove Holiness Church C/O Lynn Carter at 4393 Tuckers Grove Church Road, Wrightsville, GA 31096. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
