Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Mullis Williams, age 69, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Joseph Mullis Cemetery. Rev. Greg Lowery will officiate.
Mrs. Williams was born March 3, 1948 in Dublin, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her father, the late Dealous Clarence Mullis, Sr. and a brother, Dewayne Mullis. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she was actively involved in WMU and was a children's Sunday school teacher. She retired from the Laurens County Board of Education where she worked respectfully as a paraprofessional for the severe and profound Special Education program and she was also a bookkeeper for the school nutrition department at the Board of Education. She was loved by her family and was considered the best mama and nana ever. Mrs. Williams passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017.
She is survived by her mother, Juanita Horne Mullis of Cadwell, a son, Neal (Susan) Williams, Jr. of Cadwell, a daughter, Tonya Williams Shiver of Dublin, her siblings, Marilyn (Donnie) Upshaw of Cadwell, Opel (Glenn) Rogers of Cadwell, Millie (Barry) Alexander of Zebulon, D.C. (Marie) Mullis, Jr. of Dexter and Scott (Lisa) Mullis of Dexter, her grandchildren, Brandon Williams and Ashleigh, Austin and Alex Reagin and their father, Greg Reagin.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at the Family Life Center at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The family may also be contacted at the home of her son, Neal Williams, 376 Smith Road, Cadwell, Georgia.
Pallbearers will be Justin Upshaw, Madrid Upshaw, Stephen Rogers, Jay Wood, Dee Mullis, Dusty Mullis, Joe Hudson and Ross Branch.
The family asks that contributions, in memory of Mrs. Williams, be made to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, Georgia 31021.
