Barbara Yancey

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Cannon Yancey, age 78, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Robert Rogers will officiate. Mrs. Yancey was born November 12, 1935 in Dublin, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Bremen and Ethel Jones Cannon, her husband, Joseph Don Yancey and a nephew, Kenneth Adamson. She was a member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was also formerly employed by J.P. Stevens & Company and was the former secretary for Yancey Appliance Company. Mrs. Yancey passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014. She is survived by her children, Donald Ray (Sara) Yancey of Rentz, Darryll (Sharon) Yancey of Dexter and Rita Phillips of Rentz, a sister, Betty (Randy) Adamson of McDonough, six grandchildren, Shannon Veal, Amanda (Kevin) Barnett, Jennifer (Ben) Shepard, Joseph (Hannah) Yancey, Jody (Genea) Phillips and Jessica Yancey, eight great-grandchildren, Al Veal, Devon Veal, Alyssa Soles, Bethany Soles, Raeleigh Soles, Gunner Barnett, Hayden Barnett and Jackson Shepard and a niece, Melinda (Doug) Sutton. Members of the Defenders Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, July 21, 2014 at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home & Crematory/ Dublin Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
