Funeral services for Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Parker, Jr., age 88 will be held 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Elder Kenneth Brantley and Rev. Chris Mitchell will officiate. Mr. Parker was born on February 23, 1927 in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Madge Prescott Parker, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn Spivey Parker. He served in the United States Army where he was a Sargent during the Korean Conflict. He was the Owner/Operator of Parker Grocery. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Parker passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Washington County Extended Care Facility. Mr. Parkers is survived by his 3 daughters, Judy Wood of McRae, Vann (Allen) Kitchens of Wrightsville, and Jennifer (Glenn) Hawkins of Warthen, 2 sisters, Catherine Parker Pearson of Fairburn, OH, and Jeanette Parker Darsey of Beaufort, SC, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Parker's grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Davis Raley Sunday School Class, and Thomas Smith. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
