Funeral services for Bennie E. "Tump" McCoy, age 84 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tommy Veal and Rev. Judd Drake will officiate.
Mr. McCoy was born on December 25, 1932 in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Alben Dan and Geneva Ida Powell McCoy. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Edward McCoy, Gene McCoy, Joseph McCoy, and Sylvia Fennel, and a grandchild, Kayle Morgan Jump.. He was retired from Pioneer Credit Company. He was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church. He was a member of the East Dublin Lions Club, and was a long time East Laurens Falcons Fan. Mr. McCoy passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Serenity Place.
Mr. McCoy is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ann McCoy of East Dublin, 3 daughters, Brenda McCoy Hilton of Dublin, Cindy McCoy (Mike) Jump of Ridgeway, VA, and Michele McCoy (Don) Williamson, 5 grandchildren, Neeli (Jason) Barwick, Chad (Carlan) Jump, Leigh Ann (Richard) Moore, Blake (Kelli) Williamson, and Logan Williamson, and 9 great grandchildren, Caytlin Barwick, Carleigh Barwick Harris, Phillip Barwick, Brendan Moore, Allie Moore, Carter Moore, Gamble Williamson, Coy Jump, and Cannon Jump.
Pallbearers will be Logan Williamson, Chad Jump, Richard Moore, Jason Barwick, Brian McCoy, and Phillip Barwick.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School Class of Gethsemane United Methodist Church and the East Dublin "M" Breakfast Club.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the funeral Home.
The family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. McCoy to Serenity Place at 504 Parker Dairy Road, Dublin, GA 31021.
