Betty Sue Barwick

Funeral services for Betty Sue Barwick, age 84, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Union Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Sammy Newsome will officiate.

Mrs. Barwick was born on March 19, 1940, in Greene County, North Carolina. She had lived in Johnson County for the last seven years and lived in North Carolina most of her life. She was a former employee of Winner Chevrolet and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mattie Lee Baker Turner and her husband, Robert "Bob" Barwick. Mrs. Barwick passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Emanuel Medical Center.

She is survived by her two sons, Chris (Erica) Sutton and Charles (Sharon) Sutton all of Wrightsville; daughter, Charlene (Tim) Anderson of Goldsboro, NC; brother, Earl (Myrtle) Baker of Farmville, NC; sister, Sandra (Wayne) Taylor of Farmville, NC; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Powell, Gregg Jordan, Carl Claxton, Loren Powell, Robert Bray, Chris Ivey, Dwayne Ivey, Edd Tanner, and Anthony Akridge. Honorary pallbearers will be Connor Anderson, Raleigh Anderson, Jameson Sutton, Sutton Lewis, Marshal Lewis, Brian Bearss, Mitch McGraw, Dennis Moore, Xander Baker, Donald Adcock, Hunter Bowden and Jimmy Moore.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M on Thursday at the church prior to the funeral service.
