Betty June Burgamy passed away on January 18th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family after a gallant battle with cancer.
Betty was born July 12th, 1940 in Laurens County, GA to Cora Lucille Beasley and George Estus Beasley. Betty married her first love, Bobby Dean Brinson, and they had two children together. She later went on to marry the love of her life, Ralph Horace Burgamy, on April 12, 1972, who she had her third child with.
In 1973, Betty moved to Alaska with her family where she resided until her death. While living in Alaska, Betty became a renowned hairdresser with many loyal clients. She was the owner and operator of Total Effects Hair Salon in Anchorage and also worked in many other salons throughout Anchorage. In 2018, she retired and devoted her remaining time to her family.
Betty was a dedicated family icon who loved her family fiercely and whole-heartedly. She spent as much time as possible with her family and keeping in touch with those who did not live near. The family enjoyed and relished in the many stories she would share about her life, family, and experiences. She also enjoyed many creative outlets, preparing holiday baked goods, and watching her favorite soap operas and reality shows.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Cora Lucille Beasley and George Estus Beasley; both husbands, Bobby Dean Brinson and Ralph Horace Burgamy; siblings, Myrtle Hall, Wynell Barwick, Sara Lumley, WC Beasley, and Hubert Beasley; and her son Rodney Dewayne Brinson.
She is survived, remembered, and loved by her sister Margaret Crabb (brother-in-law Darwin), sister Flora Mae (Duck) Lumley, son Billy Brinson (daughter-in-law Heidi), daughter Katherine Brinson (partner Arthur) and dear friend Larry Spiva, grandson Tyler Brinson (granddaughter-in-law Heather), grandson Nicklaus Brinson (granddaughter-in-law Michele), granddaughter Brittany Waldhaus (grandson-in-law Chris), granddaughter Amber Salazar (grandson-in-law Armando), grandson Michael Brinson, granddaughter Nikole Best (grandson-in-law Jessie), and many great-grandchildren. She is a pillar of the family that will be greatly missed.
The family will be holding a viewing on January 25th from 5pm-7pm at Stanley's Funeral Home on North Jefferson Street in Dublin, GA. The funeral service will be held the following day on January 26th at 11am in the Chapel at Stanley's Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Bridges officiating. Afterward, Betty will be laid to rest at Faith Christian Cemetery on Snellbridge Road with Billy Brinson (son), Tyler Brinson (grandson), Nicklaus Brinson (grandson), Ryder Dodson (great-grandson), Cody Crabb (great-nephew), and Jordan Crabb (great-nephew) serving as pallbearers.
