Betty Ann Slaughter Cooper, age 76 passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at Dublinair Nursing Home and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Cooper was born January 20, 1946, in Montrose, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Ashton and Sara Elizabeth Bridges Slaughter. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Pud Slaughter, Cecil Slaughter, Sidney Slaughter, a sister, Francis Dinah Adkins, and a granddaughter, Brittany Elise Cooper. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She was retired from the Heart of Georgia Technical School. Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband, Elmo Cooper, Jr. a son, Gregory Dale (Beth Shillingburg) Cooper; a daughter, Sharon Rena (Dwayne) Awtry; 4 grandchildren, Bryan Cooper, Melissa Cooper, Sara Cooper, and Dylan Awtry; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Ms. Cooper to American Lung Association at 55 W.
