Mrs. Fitts was born on September 24, 1936, in Leflore County, Mississippi. She formerly lived in Marian, IL; Ona, WV; and Belzoni, MS; before making Dublin, GA her home in 1977, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Pink Ladies and the Dublin Bowling League. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was kind and giving, loved knitting, and cross-stitching and playing uno and dominoes. She helped manage the family blueberry farm, enjoyed traveling with her husband, and most of all spending time and doing activities with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Sam Gibson and Lula Price Gibson; infant daughter, Cindy Fitts; son, Gary D. Fitts; sister, Bea Gibson Alderman; brothers, Sammy, Sonny, Marlin, and Marvin Lee Gibson. Mrs. Fitts passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at her residence.
Mrs. Fitts is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Bennie Dean Fitts of Dublin; son, Keith Alexander Fitts (Sandra) of Byron; grandchildren, Betsy Sue Fitts Whitt (Ellison), Marilynne Fitts, Kristina Fitts Bush (Nick), and Emily Fitts Allen (Peyton); and great grandchildren, Avery Drake Spires, Aurora Lynne Whitt and Ella Sue Whitt.
Pallbearers will be Marilynne Fitts, Ellison Whitt, Nick Bush, Peyton Allen, and Wayne Roberson. Honorary pallbearer will be Avery Spires.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M at the funeral home.
