Betty Jean Hester

Mrs. Betty Jean Hester, age 87, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019. Mrs. Hester was born August 27, 1932 to parents Willie Winston Hilderbrand and Nettie Mae Aley Hilderbrand. She was a native of Pulaski, VA, lived in Kite for 9 years before moving to Wrightsville, where she resided for 20 years. The past two years, she was loved and cared for by nurses and CNA's at Treutlen County Health and Rehab. Before marrying the late Gerald W. Hester, Sr., to become a Navy wife, she worked in retail services. She was "Big Mama" to many children she cared for and loved, during her time in Warner Robins. After moving to Johnson County, she cared for her grand-daughters and other little ones. She enjoyed reading, sewing, coloring, and playing BINGO with her friends. She was a member of Powell's Chapel Church. She is survived by her son Jerry (Donna) Hester of Douglas, GA, her daughters Susie Hester of East Dublin, Gail Hester and Becky (Anthony) Frost both of Wrightsville, sister Jewel (Ruben) Ewert of Brush, CO, seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 5, 2019 in Powell's Chapel Church with Rev. Burton Dixon and Rev. Alan Heath officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stanley Funeral Home in Wrightsville, Georgia. Pallbearers are Alan Frost, Zachery Frost, Christopher Frost, David Mann, Thad Parker and Aaron Graham. The family will meet at the Frost residence, 4617 US Hwy 221 N, Bartow, GA. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory / Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
