Beverly Ann Holden Jones passed away surrounded by loving relatives on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. She was born in Pittsfield Massachusetts in 1935 and was raised in Fairport NY, graduating from Fairport HS in 1953.
Beverly is survived by her four children: Mark Jones (Robin) of Hope Mills NC, Larry Jones (Chris) of Eatonton, Ga. Clifford Jones (Sharon) of West Richland, WA. and Jennifer Hancock (Les) of Dublin, Ga. She also is survived by 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, as well as two loving brothers, David Holden (Bonnie) of Fresno, CA. and Bruce Holden (Martha) of Schenectady, NY
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Jones, her parents Chester and Muriel Holden, and another brother, Lawrence Holden.
Beverly and Richard traveled the US extensively as he was in both the Army and the Marine Corps. During their life together, they lived in NY State, California, Kansas, Florida, Alaska, and North Carolina. Recently, Beverly spent her later years in Georgia and North Carolina. She always considered Fayetteville, NC her home.
Beverly loved the sport of skydiving. Her husband Richard and her four children, Mark, Larry, Cliff, and Jennifer, were all jumpers. She was the only one to have never jumped from an airplane. She was extremely fond of the U.S. Army Parachute Team, The Golden Knights. Two of her sons, Mark and Cliff, became members of the team. Beverly "Ma Jones", was involved in manifesting for the 82nd sport parachute club, and various parachute competitions throughout the years. She was honored in 1979 when she was nominated and selected to be an Honorary Golden Knight because of her support and dedication to the Golden Knights Parachute Team. One of her favorite places on earth was the Parachute center in Raeford, NC.
Beverly was a family woman, dedicating her life and love to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and other family members. She loved deeply, gave freely, and lived a life full of adventure and memories. She was a loving and dedicated Military Wife, who loved God, Family, and Country.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Skydive Paraclete XP in Raeford, NC at a later date.
