Bill Alford

Graveside funeral services for Bill Alford, 97, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023 at Brewton Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Veal and Rev. Beverly King will officiate.

Mr. Alford was born November 4, 1925 in Scott, Ga. He was the son of the late Gartrell and Ethel Alford. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, MaeJean Maddox, son Steve and daughter Kathi, brothers Russell and Talmadge. Bill served in World War II in the U.S. Army. He was employed by J. P. Stevens (Dublin) prior to his move to DeKalb County and retired from Harris Litho, Inc. He and his wife MaeJean then relocated to Ben Hall Lake, Dublin. He enjoyed fishing for family cookouts, yard work, gardening, and participating in church activities. He was a member of Gethsemane Methodist Church.

He is survived by two granddaughters Melissa Hayes Johnson (Mark) of Grovetown, Ga, Lauren Ashley (Josh) Eason (Douglasville, Ga) several great-grandchildren. Also, three sisters Trellie Mullis (Beverly Hills, Fl), Dean Coy (Statham, Ga), Ann Fennell (Dublin), and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brewton Cemetery, 801 Manning Road, Dublin, GA 31027.
