Billy Lamar Adams, Sr.

Funeral services for Billy Lamar Adams, Sr., 89, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Pine Forest United Methodist Church in Dublin, Ga., with Rev. Tom Farr officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Westview Cemetery, 513 Westview Dr, Thomson, Ga., 30824. The funeral service at the church will be livestreamed at https://my.gather.app/remember/billy-adams-sr

Mr. Adams was born on March 31, 1934, in Thomson, Georgia to the late John and Nellie McDonald Adams. He was a graduate of Southern Polytechnic Institute and retired President CEO of the Southern Equipment Dealers Association. He was active in the Rotary Club of Dublin where he served as State of Georgia President from 1972 -1973. Mr. Adams and his wife, Anne, were long-time members of the Pine Forest United Methodist Church attending the Ben F. Williams Sunday School Class where he was the treasurer. In addition, he served various terms on the Administrative Board, Staff Parish Relations Committee, Nominating Committee and Board of Trustees. Mr. Adams passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Anne McCommons Adams of Dublin; two sons, Bill (Wendy) Adams of Dublin and David Adams of Savannah; sister, Betty Adams Farr of Thomson; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Beale of Evans and Fran (Andy) Lundell of Florida; three grandchildren, Will (Cecelia) Adams, Jayna Adams and Rob Adams; and great granddaughter, Brynlee Anne Adams.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Pine Forest United Methodist Church. The family will also receive friends at the home of Bill and Wendy Adams.
