Graveside funeral services for Bing Crosby Mathis, age 85 will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. On Saturday, May 29th, 2021, Bing Crosby Mathis passed away peacefully at age 85. Bing retired from United Insurance Company of America in June of 2000. He was a truck driver for Howard Sheppard Trucking and Overnight Transportation prior to changing careers in 1978. Bing was born on September 25th, 1935 in Davisboro, Georgia to Julian Robert and Lula Bell Mathis. Bing married Charlotte Faye Harrison and they raised two children, Pamelia and Keith. Bing was Preceded in death by Charlotte, His father Julian, His mother Lula Bell, His three brothers, Harvey, Edward and Hugh. He is survived by His daughter Pamelia Ustica, His son Keith Mathis, 4 grandchildren, Ammie Olson, Ashley Ransom, Daniel Mathis, Austin Ustica, 4 great grandchildren, Jada "Tater" Ransom, Hannah "Banana" Olson, Sadie Robinson, Alyssa Ustica and his sister Lucille Paige. Bing enjoyed hanging out with friends, barbequing and socializing to all hours. After becoming a convalescent Bing took up residence at the Port Orange Nursing & Rehab Center in Port Orange, Florida where he truly enjoyed giving all the nurses and staff a hard time as often as possible to the point that they all just loved him dearly. Bing will be missed by all that knew him. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
