Boyd Cecil Gross

May 15, 1938 — June 7, 2022

Boyd Cecil Gross went home to meet the Lord on June 7, 2022. He was born in War Creek, Kentucky in 1938. Mr. Gross was 84 years old. He was a loving and devoted husband, a father that loved and cared for his children with all his heart, a grandfather that changed the lives of his grandkids, and a newly appointed great-grandfather. He was a very special man that meant the world to so many people. He served with the U.S Air Force as an airman for 6 years as infantry for 2 years and a weatherman for 4. After serving his country, Cecil went to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia where he studied and received his bachelor's in Divinity alongside his daughter, Lisa. After his studies he became employed with Allison Gas Turbine division of General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana for 33 years. From there, he and his family moved to Covington, Georgia in 1995. During his time in the Air Force, right after he finished basic training, he met the love of his life, Helen Louise Hisle in Camby, Indiana in 1955 at Church Camp where they wrote letters every day for 5 years and 19 days. They continued to fall more in love with every letter. Once his soul met Helen's it was inseparable for the two of them. They devoted their lives to each other and in the fall of 1960 they wed. They continued to serve God and their marriage for 61 years. Boyd Cecil Gross left behind his wife Helen, two beautiful daughters, Lisa Campbell and Teresa Gross, two grandchildren Brandon Summers (and his wife Isabel) and Amanda Summers, along with his great-grandson Ellis and his great-granddaughter Willow (currently awaiting her arrival). He loved deeply, purely, and unconditionally. He was a brave and respected man that loved the Lord and his family with all of his heart. He will be deeply missed and continually loved by family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 10, 2022, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory with burial with military honors to follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Daniel Walker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
