Bruce William Johnson

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Bruce William Johnson, age 70 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Wes Moye and Dr. Joel Dent will officiate. Mr. Johnson was born on June 21, 1945 in Brandon, Vermont. He was the son of the late Raymond Wallace and Cora Williams Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Johnson, and a sister, Benay Heil. He was a graduate of Union High School, and he attended Rutland Business College in Rutland, Vermont. He also studied at Berkley School of Music in New York. He was a member of St. Paul's Masonic Lodge #25. He has worked at Firestone, and is retired from Food Lion in Florida. He was an avid trombonist. He loved to travel, work in the garden, and build rustic furniture for his home. He was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Mr. Johnson passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Johnson married his loving wife in 2008, Carolyn Johnson of Dublin. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Johnson to the Methodist Children's Home at 1111 Herring Avenue, Waco, TX 76708 or online at mch.org. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel have charge of funeral arrangements.
