Brunell T. Lackey

Brunell Thompson Crawford Lackey made her divine journey to her Heavenly home on July 9. She was born in Charlton County Georgia, October 18,1929 to Bruce L. and Mary Sikes Thompson.

The oldest of nine children, she made the decision to become a Christian from the influence of her third-grade teacher. Earning her LPN license in 1976, she lived a life of service through nursing and volunteering for leadership roles in her church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing Scrabble and Hand and Foot Cards. She was dedicated to her family, church family and friends through serving, as often as allowed.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Lawrence Crawford and Reverend Jacob Lackey, three children, Glynda Smith, Larry Crawford and Bonnie Lackey.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, brothers Dwight and Carlton Thompson of Charlton County, a daughter Denise (Dennis) Dobbins, daughter in law Sandra Crawford, stepsons, Sammy (Merlene) Lackey and Ricky Rogers. Grandchildren David (Denise) Dixon of Brunswick, Justin (Michawne) Clark of Suwanne, Megan (Freeman) Shepard of Dublin, Kelly (Cary) Spain of Lynchburg, VA, Joseph (Jessica) Dobbins of Dublin, Emily Dobbins of Kathleen, Jordan Crawford and Macie Crawford of Dublin. Chris Rogers, Amy Burleson, Samantha Smith, Shane (Shellie) Lackey and Matt (Carrie) Lackey.

Great grandchildren Kevin, Ashton, Logan and Lawson Dixon, Lucas and Micah Clark, Sophie and Ruby Shephard, Jordan Patterson, Jocelyn, Avery, Myla and Cutler Dobbins, and Kylie Reagin. Several nieces, nephews and great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews Jimmy and Carl Thompson, Orival and Mark Thompson and Brian and Rodney Thompson.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 11, 2025, at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Tanner and Rev. Richard Wyatt officiating.

Visitation will be held at Rock Springs Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M until 10:45 A.M. on Friday, July 11, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church or Promise of Hope, Inc, Dudley Ga.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of the funeral arrangements.
