Carlton C. Dollar, Jr.

Funeral services for Carlton C. Dollar, Jr., age 78, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Poplar Springs  Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Chappy Passmore will officiate.

Carlton was born on April 16, 1947, in Dublin, Georgia, to the late CC Dollar and Dorothy Irene Pullen Dollar. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14), Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

After returning home, Carlton built a long and respected career as a Senior Mechanic with Mohawk Industries, where he worked until his retirement. Never one to slow down, he went on to work alongside his son at Dollar and Son Transport as a Diesel Mechanic, a job that kept his hands busy and his heart full. He was loyal, hardworking, and the kind of man who could fix just about anything.

Carlton was a firecracker most of his life — strong-willed, quick-witted, and full of personality. He was a loyal dad who loved his children and their children fiercely and with his whole heart. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first great-great-grandchild. He loved to fish, bird hunt, and share laughter with family and friends. He also honored his parents deeply throughout their lives, remaining a devoted son to the very end.

A lifelong member of Poplar Springs United Methodist Church, Carlton's faith was steady, quiet, and genuine — reflected most in how he lived his life. His strength, humor, and loyalty left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.

He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Fairview Park Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.

Carlton is survived by his sons, Derrick Stanley Dollar and Christopher Brian Dollar (Patty); his daughter, Carla Dollar Higgs (Edwin); ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Ricks, Timmy Oliver, Jake Hampton, Brandon Dollar, Christopher Dollar, and Steven Hodges.

The family will receive guests at the home of Chris and Patty Dollar, located at 187 McCoy Road, Wrightsville, Georgia, 31096.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory Dublin, GA.
