Graveside services for Charles Robert Bloodworth, age 73, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Faith Christian Assembly Cemetery with Rev. Doug Bridges, Rev. Ronnie Powell, and Rev. Kenny Rowland officiating.
Mr. Bloodworth was born in Toomsboro, Georgia on June 30, 1947 to Willie and Anna Bloodworth. Charles' family moved to South Carolina in the early 50's. He attended Allendale-Fairfax Highschool. He married his beautiful wife, Jackie, on June 22, 1967 and they had 3 children. They later moved to Georgia in the early 80's to be closer to his sister, Janice, and he began working in the construction business. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1983, and shortly after was called into the ministry. He attended seminary school at Liberty Bible College and took several courses at Brewton Parker College and Mercer University in Macon: studying Biblical Studies, Ministry, Theology, Christian Education, and Christian Counseling. He was ordained as a pastor at East Dublin Baptist on May 27, 1984 by Rev. Ronnie Powell. He began pastoring his first church shortly after ordination at Centerville Baptist Church in Dublin and went on to serve full time and interim at many churches throughout Laurens County. He also ministered in the YDC, prison ministry, Teen Challenge, Apostles House, and Angels in Flight Rehabs. He was the founder of The Street Soldiers for Christ Ministry and Tent Ministries. He retired from full time ministry in 2016 due to health issues, but that did not stop him from serving the Lord and spreading God's word and love. He used his Facebook page as a tool to minister and serve the Lord posting videos, words of the day and mini sermons almost daily. He always ended those with "Jesus loves you and so do I". He penned his first book last year and published "Living Free in a Troubled World". Charles never met a stranger and to know him was to love him. He impacted every life he met and left a legacy behind like no other. Mr. Bloodworth passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his home.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jackie Bloodworth of East Dublin, his children, David Bloodworth of Charleston, SC, Janet Linn of East Dublin, and Danny Bloodworth of East Dublin, sisters, Janice Crosby of East Dublin, Willie Mae Stevenson of Gainesville, Pat Bates of Varnville, SC, Christy Williams of Fairfax, SC, and Elizabeth Burke of Fostoria, OH, 8 grandchildren, Rex Bloodworth, Ben Bloodworth, Chris (Leona) Linn, John Linn, Shelby (Hunter) Rowland, Aaron Bloodworth, Shea Bloodworth, and Hunter Bloodworth, and 6 great grandchildren, Aubree Linn, Weston Linn, Rowan Linn, Emma Rowland, Mason Lopez, and Mariela Lopez.
