Charles Edward Brownlee

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Brownlee, age 77, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Dexter Baptist Church with interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. Calvin Halcomb will officiate. Mr. Brownlee was born December 13, 1939 in Wichita Falls, Texas; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late, Charles D. & Fern Morgan Brownlee, a brother, Douglas Brownlee and two sisters, Jan Michna and Jean Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served from 1956 until 1966. He was a graduate of Georgia College and Georgia Southern University. From 1969 until his retirement in 1997, Mr. Brownlee was employed, first as a teacher and then as an administrator with the Laurens County Board of Education. He was a member, Deacon and Sunday school teacher of Dexter Baptist Church. He also was an avid golfer and formerly served on the Board of Directors at Green Acres Golf Club. Mr. Brownlee passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Brownlee of Dexter, a son, Doug (Keela) Brownlee and three grandchildren, Lindsey (Josh) Knight, Karly Brownlee and Kameron Brownlee. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00, Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ward, Ben Ward, Skip Skipper, Josh Knight, Johnathan Cesario, Keith Skipper, Seth Ward and Derek Smith. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
