Charles Edward "Bo" Hill, 87, passed away at his home in Dublin, Georgia on April 24, 2021.
Charles was born March 10, 1934 in Marietta, Georgia to the late Charles G. and Mildred Hill. After serving his country in the United States Marine Corp, and after attaining an Associate's degree at Reinhardt College, Charles attained a Bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in Hospital Administration. He served in hospital administration for over 30 years, much of that time in Sandersville, Georgia. Before his recent move to Dublin, he spent his retirement in Milledgeville, Georgia where he was a member of First Baptist Church of Milledgeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Robert Hill and Sara Sexton, and his wife Allie K. Hill.
Charles is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Linda Burton of Macon Georgia, children, Daphne (Todd) Hyatt of Dacula, Georgia and Stevens (Louise) Hill of Dublin, Georgia, five grandchildren, Courtland (Callie) Hyatt of Seattle, Washington, Alexander Hyatt of Dacula, Georgia, and Griffin Hill, Graham Hill, and Elizabeth Hill of Dublin, Georgia, his sister-in-law, Janet Hill, of Blairsville, Georgia, his dear friends Bobby and Allene Hill of Marietta, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
Affectionately known as Pabo by his family, those who knew him well have described him as a kind and thoughtful person who was known for his independence, his deep love for family and friends, his faith, and his love of ice cream and anything sweet. Though he will be sorely missed, based on his faith in the forgiveness of sins through Christ, we are comforted that he has entered into the very presence of and peace of Christ.
Please join us for a celebration of life service at 11:00 A.M. on May 15, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Milledgeville at 330 South Liberty Street.
He will be laid to rest at a private service, beside his parents, at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta.
Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
