Charles L. Smith

Graveside funeral services for Charles L. Smith, age 86, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 18, 2021, in Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ken Brogden will officiate. Mr. Smith was born on June 2, 1935, in Adel, Georgia. Charles served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean war and was a member of the VFW. He retired from Ryder as a civil engineer mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Smith, brothers, Henry K. Smith and Fred Smith, and sister, Geneva Ann Smith. Mr. Smith passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at his home. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Venita Lord Smith of Dublin, daughters, Peggy Smith of Snellville and DeAnn Smith-Cochran of Dublin, sisters, Hilda V. Smith of Snellville and Ruth Carol Smith of Ty Ty, Ga, and 3 grandchildren, Jackson Cochran of Pooler, Patricia Cochran of Jacksonville, FL, and Lansing Cochran of Dublin. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
