Charles Anthony Nazerian, 61, of Dublin, GA, passed away on April 8, 2023, after a short battle with cancer.
Charles (Chuck) was born on October 23, 1961 to Charles Nazerian and Elsa Fowler Nazerian in Ducktown, TN, and was brought up in McCaysville, GA. After Chuck graduated from Fannin County High School in 1980, he went on to achieve a Bachelor of Business Administration at North Georgia College and a Master of Business Administration at Brenau University.
In his early career, Chuck worked in production at Deep South Products and the Wrigley Company. After moving to Dublin, Chuck was employed with the Laurens County Tax Assessor's office where he achieved the position of Chief Appraiser. He moved on to work for the Georgia Department of Revenue, where he was employed for nineteen years and most recently served as Director of Local Government Services.
On September 6, 1991, Chuck met Janice Webb on a blind date. Chuck and Janice married January 18, 1992. They lived in Gainesville, GA and were blessed with their first daughter, Sydney, in June of 1993. They relocated to Janice's hometown, Dublin, GA, in 1995, and had their second daughter, Julia, in December of 1996.
Chuck was a lifelong Christian and enjoyed teaching the Friendship and Confirmation Sunday School Classes at First United Methodist Church of Dublin for many years. Chuck and Janice's relationship with God grew as they changed their way of thinking and focused on the greatest commandments: "'The most important one,' answered Jesus, 'is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[g] There is no commandment greater than these.'" (Mark 12: 29-31). Chuck also loved yard work and said riding the lawnmower was his best conversation time with God.
Chuck was a devoted husband and father. He was always ready to support whatever outreach and mission work was on Janice's heart at the time. Chuck never shied away from traditionally maternal responsibilities. He found joy in the kitchen and expressed his love and appreciation for others through food – especially baking.
Chuck was predeceased by his mother and father, Elsa Nazerian and Charles Nazerian. He is survived by his wife, Janice Nazerian, his daughters, Sydney Nazerian and Julia Nazerian, and sisters, Ginger (James "Buck") Buchanan, Vicki (Michael) Shinpaugh, and Mitzi Nazerian Lowery, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Dublin, Friday, April 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kid's Cup, a community resource closet for vulnerable children.
