Charles Edward Scarbrough, Sr.

Funeral services for Charles Edward Scarbrough, Sr., age 82 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with a private interment to follow at Northview Cemetery. Mr. Blake Scarbrough and Mr. Thurmon Foskey will officiate.

Mr. Scarbrough was born January 26, 1943, in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Horace Thomas Scarbrough and Mary E. Lizzie Maddox Scarbrough. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Scarbrough. He was a retired salesman from Flower's Bakery. Mr. Scarbrough passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Medical University of South Carolina.

Mr. Scarbrough is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Scarbrough of East Dublin; 2 sons Charles Edward Scarbrough, Jr. of Burnham, PA and Phillip Chad Scarbrough of East Dublin; 2 daughters, Susan Lanier Scarbrough of Dublin and Kimberly Lynn Scarbrough of Buckeye; 2 brothers, HT Scarborough of East Dublin and Ricky Scarbrough of Dublin ; 2 sisters, Hilda Wynn of Dublin and Patsy Beall of Dublin; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Scarbrough to St. Jude Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
