Charlie Ray Oliver

Charlie Ray Oliver, age 90, slipped peacefully into his final rest in his home on February 12, 2024.


Charlie Ray was born, December 10, 1933 in Wrightsville, GA. He resided in Wrightsville all of his life. While growing up on a farm was hard, he still found time to enjoy all the simple pleasures that a country boy like to do, shotting marbles, fishing and taking a cool dip in his favorite water hole on a hot summer day. His love of country life continued into his adulthood. Charlie Ray was a farmer and painter by trade. He enjoyed spending time with family, most of all, making treasured memories with his Grands and Great Grandchildren.


Charlie Ray was one of five siblings and was preceded in death by his parents; William Forrest and Gertrude Caneega Oliver, sister, Margarie Outlaw (Junior), brothers, Rudolph Oliver (Janie), Fern Oliver, Greta Curl Oliver and Granddaughter, Tamara Hicks.


He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Frances Maddox Oliver. Daddy referred to Mother as "The Prettiest of three sisters". His children; daughter, Joy Oliver Hicks (Wayne) of Wrightsville, Charlene Oliver Carter (Grayson) of East Dublin and Gregg Oliver (Susan)of Wrightsville.


Sister-in-law; Thelma Morris Oliver of Macon, GA.


Grandchildren; Michele Cerrito, Shon Brown, Julia Hicks, Traci Hicks Moore (Jack), Brian Carter, Lane Oliver and Logan Oliver.


Great Grandchildren; Christopher King, Tyler King, Shelby Lyn Moore, Abigail Carter, Grayson Patrick Carter and Skyler Carter.


Great Great Grandchild; Marley King.


Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Extended Family and Friends.


Services will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 12pm in the Richard N. Stanley Jr. Memorial Chapel in Wrightsville, GA.


Final Resting Place is Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville, GA


Pastor Mike Bankston presiding.


Pallbearers will be David Oliver, Jason Fountain, Colton Kersey, Logan Thompson, Todd May and Dakota Prince.


Our family is grateful to Georgia Hospice for their compassionate care for our father in his final days.


Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel in charge of funeral arrangements.
