Christine Rowland

Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Lord Rowland, age 85, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Liberty Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Providence-Pullen Cemetery. Rev. Sammy Hall will officiate. Mrs. Rowland was born December 21, 1931 in Johnson County; she was preceded in death by her parents, the late Alton and Mary Kersey Lord, her husband, A.J. Rowland, a daughter, Vivian Hood, two sisters, Estolene Dickens and Jeanette Frost and a brother, Douglas Lord. She was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church and was retired as a seamstress from Apparel Craft Industries. Mrs. Rowland passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at her home. She is survived by a son, Spencer Rowland of Wrightsville, three daughters, Wanda (Larry) Reese, Mary Helen Rowland and Marjorie Wyatt all of Wrightsville, a sister, Allie Dean Mason of Wrightsville, three grandchildren, Kristin Rowland, Kelli Williamson, and Michael Reese, two great-grandchildren, Gamble Williamson and Reagan Reese, a son-in-law, Jerry Hood and a sister-in-law, Avon Lord. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until funeral hour, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the church. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
