Cynthia "Cindy" Claxton

Funeral services for Cynthia Way Claxton, age 68, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in the Richard N. Stanley Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow in Westview Cemetery. Rev. Trent Boulineau officiating.

Mrs. Claxton was born on December 23, 1957, in Swainsboro, Georgia and was a member of Rehoboth Church. She earned a doctorate in education and retired from teaching after serving children and families for over 30 years in Johnson, Laurens and Emanuel counties. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Wilder Way and Cleon Nell Norris Way. Mrs. Claxton passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at her residence.

She was proud wife to her husband, Nelson Claxton of Wrightsville, mother to Josh Claxton (Courtney) of Wrightsville; and grandmother to two of her biggest achievements, Scarlett Claxton and Victoria Claxton. She is also survived by her two sisters, Kate Page of Swainsboro and Nancy Flanders of Swainsboro; and a brother, David Way (Elizabeth) of Swainsboro.

Pallbearers will be John Wilder Page, Conrey Claxton, Sean Claxton, Jim Claxton, T.J. Page, Carl Claxton and Casey Wilds.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the funeral home.
