Clarence Lamont Davidson, 88, of East Dublin, Georgia, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 9, 2024, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Jean Pope Davidson, and their three children: CL Davidson Jr. (Rocky), Beverly Davidson, and John Davidson. Lamont was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart. His death was preceded many years ago with the death of his young son Skipper Davidson.
Born in Rentz, GA, Lamont was the youngest of nine children born to James Allen Davidson and Bessie Lee Moye Davidson. He was a well-known and respected figure in the community, having run the East Laurens Kwik Serv and later a feed and seed store, where he built many lasting friendships.
In his younger days, Lamont found joy in singing as part of a gospel quartet, which is how he met his wife, Jean. His rich bass voice remained strong throughout his life, a testament to his enduring passion for music. A believer in Christ, his family takes comfort in knowing he is now healed and at peace with his Savior.
Lamont found simple pleasures in life, including sitting by the pond in front of his home and working on his hay farm. He also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and boxing matches on TV.
