Claudia Adelaide Deal

Graveside funeral services for Claudia Adelaide Braddy Deal, age 89 will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Roger Holley and Rev. Randy Adams will officiate. Mrs. Deal was born July 14, 1932, in Dublin, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Adelaide Bishop Braddy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Deal, 2 sons, John Deal and Steve Deal, and a brother, James Braddy. She was a 1953 graduate of Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Health Department in Wrightsville for 10 years before going to work at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin as Head Nurse where she retired in 1992. She loved her family, friends, traveling, crocheting, cross stitching, cooking, and reading. Mrs. Deal passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Deal is survived by her 2 sons, Bruce (Teri) Deal of Wrightsville, and Gene (Alice) Deal of Athens, 2 grandchildren, Stephanie (Mark) Johnson of Milledgeville, and Wiley (Summer) Deal of Lagrange, a step grandchild, Tori (James) Beverly, of Wrightsville, and 5 great-grandchildren, Pruitt Beverly, Sara Johnson, Marli Johnson, Lennox Deal, and Lilly Deal. Pallbearers will be James Deal, Kenneth Deal, Glynn Mathis, Joe Sumner, Steve Peters, and Tommy Sharpe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Phillip Boatright, and Dr. Jean Sumner. The family would like to thank Pruitt Hospice and staff for the care they provided for Mrs. Deal. The family will receive friends from 2:30 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Westview Cemetery. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
