Clayton Elbert Gay

Memorial services for Clayton Elbert Gay, 79, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 28, 2022, in the Richard N. Stanley Jr. Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny Thomas officiating.

Mr. Gay was born on December 17, 1942, in Columbus, Georgia. He was a retired veteran with 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy. He obtained he B.A. in Business while working full time with Engelhard Kaolin. He formerly worked for Prudential Insurance in Alabama before returning to Sandersville to be near his family. Mr. Gay passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at his home.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Gay of Wrightsville, 2 children, William Gay of Sandersville, and Regina (Neil) Barfield of Wrightsville, sister, Brenda (Don) Medley, 4 grandchildren, Courtney (Josh) Claxton, Ashley (Casey) Wilds, Samantha Gay, and Robert Gay, and 3 great grandchildren, Carrie Wilds, Rylie Wilds and Scarlett Claxton.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
