Mr. Clifford William Duggan, age 71, died Saturday evening at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility in Statesboro. He was born in Savannah, Georgia and raised in Jenkins County. Upon his graduation from high school, Clifford joined the U.S. Navy serving from 1966 until 1969. His service time included that of being on the USS Galveston. Following his military service, Clifford began his career with the Civil Service in Panama City, FL in the 1970's and retired in 1998, from the Naval Coastal System Station. He returned to Millen where he owned and operated a machine shop for several years. He was a master machinist, a trait that he dearly loved, and he was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Above all else, his greatest love was being at home. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Georgia Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Carter Duggan and Sally Pearl Joyner Duggan; his brothers, Eddie Bolton and Ricky Bolton and a sister, Gordon Duggan.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 34 years, Annemarie Strauss Duggan of Millen; a daughter, Billie Ann Duggan Kitchens of Dublin and Clifford Lee and Susan Duggan of Dublin; a grandson, Zachary Duggan of Dublin; a sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl (BooBoo) and Ashley Brannen of Millen and her daughter KC Paige; a brother Michael Bolton of Millen; nephew Hunter Bolton and family; a cousin, Shirley Johnson and family and the mother of his children, Georgia Smith of Dublin.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Ga. 30459.
As per Clifford's request there will be no formal service, however, his children will receive friends at a memorial visitation from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the funeral home.
