Daisy Lorene Bolander

Memorial Services for Daisy Lorene Hooten Bolander, age 82 will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Bolivia, North Carolina. Mrs. Bolander was born March 4, 1939, in Harrisburg, Illinois, where she married Bill Hooten in 1956 and they started a family and then moved to Southport, NC in 1975. She was the daughter of the late Coy and Daisy Cox Milligan. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Noel Hooten, her daughter, Pam Bumgardner, her siblings, Warren Milligan, Bobby Milligan, Betty McKendrie, and Sylvester Milligan, her grandson, Brian Shallcross, and a great grandchild, Kenly Hope Bumgardner. She was a member of Midway Apostolic Church in Southport, NC. Lorene or "Sis" was known as a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She found joy in shopping and giving to her family and friends. She loved to talk and share life experiences with the ones she met. Mrs. Bolander passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, at Fairview Park Hospital. Mrs. Bolander is survived by her husband, Guy Bolander of Dublin, a son, Mark (Doris) Hooten of Southport NC, 2 daughters, Patti (Gayle) Payne of Raleigh, NC, and Belinda (Mark) Crawford of Soperton, and Kenny (Sue) Bolander of Harrisburg, IL, 4 grandchildren, George Bumgardner, Jr., Jeremiah Poindexter, Dylan Hooten, and Jesse Shallcross, and multiple great-grandchildren. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
