Daniel "Danny" Edward Sheppard

Memorial services for Daniel "Danny" Edward Sheppard, age 77, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 25, 2022 in the Richard N. Stanley, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, 8580 S. Marcus St, Wrightsville, Georgia. Rev. Norman Cox will officiate. Daniel Edward Sheppard passed away in Wrightsville, Georgia on December 25, 2021 at the age of 77. He was born in Dublin, Georgia on August 11, 1944. Danny was the son of the late Jesse Edward Sheppard and Dovie Veal Sheppard. He was also the son-in-law of the late Elmer Blount and Annie Dozier. Danny has two siblings: Patricia Johnson of Tennille and Steve Sheppard of Highlands, North Carolina. His sister-in-law, Vicki Roberts, resides in Wrightsville. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria Blount Sheppard of Oxford, a son Daniel Scott (Tonya) of Atlanta and a daughter, Donna Lynn (Philip) Pugh, of McKinney, Texas. He had five grandchildren: Taylor Ann and Tyler Lewis Pugh of McKinney, TX and Sydney Ryann, Daniel Griffin and Abbey Caroline Sheppard of Atlanta. Danny earned an Associate's Degree from Falls College in Atlanta in 1964 and he was the Director of Information Services for Blue Bird Body Company in Fort Valley. Danny was also the President/CEO of Peach Consulting INC. In addition, he served on the Board of Georgia College and he was President of Data Processing Management Association and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Danny also served in various capacities within the Methodist church as a treasurer and a Sunday School teacher. At his passing, he was a member of Covington UMC and of the Agape Sunday school class for twenty-one years. In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching his son and later one of his grandsons in baseball. He loved playing golf and watching his grandchildren play various sports. Danny loved traveling with his wife Gloria to various places within the United States and in Europe. Danny shared his warm smile and engaging laughter with everyone who knew him. He was a very loving son, sibling, husband, dad and later a #1 Pa. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him especially his family. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy. The family will receive friends immediately after the service for a reception at The Country Club -Wrightsville, 188 Golf Club Rd, Wrightsville, GA 31096. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Covington First UMC in Covington, GA. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of arrangements.
