Darrell T. Holliday, Sr.

Funeral services for Darrell Thaggard Holliday Sr., age 95 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Jefferson Street Baptist Church Chapel with interment to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Jerry Pickard and Rev. Kyle Giddens will officiate.

Mr. Holliday was born December 22, 1929, in Dublin Georgia. He was the son of the late Johnnie H. Holliday Sr. & Anna Thaggard Holliday. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Jane Holliday, an infant daughter, Anna Jane Holliday, and two other daughters, Dara Judd, and Pamela Lindsey McCullough, a brother, Johnnie H. Holliday, Jr., and a sister, Anna Francis Holliday.

Darrell graduated from Rentz High School in 1948 and proudly served in the Army for two years during the Korean War. He married Mattie Jane Holliday on October 7, 1956, at Blue Water Baptist Church in Dublin Ga. He served on the board of Education at Dublin High school in the 1970's. After 39 years working at J.P Stevens and Forstman he retired and started his second career in design and installation of Cabinetry with Evans Cabinet Company and Lifetime Cabinets.

Darrell was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church and served as a deacon for over 40 years. Darrell and his wife Mattie, worked with Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief as unit director and trainer and assisted in disaster recovery and relief for victims affected in disaster areas from North Carolina to Missouri. They also worked for Carpenters for Christ to assist churches in need.

Mr. Holliday passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Dublinair Nursing Home and Rehab.

Mr. Holliday is survived by a son, Darrell T. (Terri) Holliday, Jr. of Adairville, KY, a daughter, Bennie (Tammy) Franks of Tallahassee, FL, 6 grandchildren, Kandy Graham, Kristy Edge, Heather Sendler, Tommy Judd, Kimberly Avilez, and Melissa Judd Harvey, and many great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
