David Carey

Memorial services for Mr. James David Carey, age 77, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Waller And Rev. Scott Osborne officiating. Mr. Carey Was born July 6, 1939 in Wrightsville, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late James L. Carey and Bertha Powell Carey and a daughter, Robin Carey Roberts and a brother, Van Carey. He was retired, after 28 years, from the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Good Ole Boys Golf Club and the Kite Jaycee's. Mr. Carey passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Betty Carey of Harrison, a son, David (Teresa) Carey, Jr. of Wrightsville, two daughters, Susan (Clifford) Claxton of Wrightsville, Dianna (David) Peters of Tybee Island, a step-son, Russ (Susan) Tanner of Tennille, a sister, Betty Price of Bartow, 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service at the church. Deacons of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and members of the Good Ole Boys Golf Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
