Memorial services for Dell Purvis, age 59 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Greg Lowery will officiate.
Mr. Purvis was born on December 6, 1957 in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Elward Waudell Purvis, Sr. and Jeanelle Stuckey Purvis. He moved to Wilmington Island in Savannah in 2003 where he made his home for many years before retiring and moving to Cadwell in 2016. He was the owner of Peg Leg Pete's in Savannah on River Street. He enjoyed driving his golf cart on dirt roads and stopping to meet and speak to everyone he came in contact with. Mr. Purvis passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Medical Center of Central Georgia, Navicent Health.
Mr. Purvis is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sonjia Smith Purvis, son& best friend, Kirk Purvis, sister, Carla Purvis (Frank) Youngblood. Dell was blessed with many caring family members that include, Charles and Faye Thompson, Pat Thompson, Shari Thompson, Greg, Tracy, Haley , and Madison Graham, Joe, Samantha, Sam, Emma, and Jack Riner, Trey, Ashley, Davis, and Bryant Oliver, Russell, Rachel, and Ryan Youngblood, and two loving fur babies Mia and Pirate.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Purvis to an organization of your choice.
