Delores M. Marmon

Delores M. Marmon, 92, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law's in Cadwell, Georgia where she has resided for the past 8 years.

Delores was born December 16, 1931 in Stanley, North Dakota to Arvid and Nettie (Nelson) Burkman and was reared in Stanley. She graduated from Stanley High School in 1949. She married George W. Marmon of White Earth, North Dakota on February 16, 1952, in Stanley, North Dakota. It was there that they made their home and raised their three children. George passed away on May15, 1964.

Delores worked for Mountrail County for many years having worked in the County Judge, Clerk of Court, County Auditor, and Register of Deeds offices and several years for the Mountrail County Abstract office. She was the Deputy Register of Deeds from April 1977 to June 1984 and the Register of Deeds from June 1984 until her retirement in June of 1997.

She was a member of Our Savior Free Lutheran Church in Stanley, North Dakota and enjoyed singing in their church choir and was a member of their WMF. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a former Bethel Home volunteer and a former member of the Vennlig Sons of Norway Lodge (#4-618), Tioga, North Dakota.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Thelma, and four brothers: Arnold, Milton, Oscar, and Calvin. She leaves to cherish her memory of her children; Yvonne Jones (William) of Cadwell, Suzanne Jarmin (Randy) of Stanley, North Dakota, and Brian Marmon of Los Angeles, CA, a sister, Cecilia (Dixie) Meyer of Clovis, CA, sister-in-laws, Alice Moe of Salinas, CA, DeMares Garcia (Frank) of Valencia, CA, and Ialeen Burkman, of Blaine, MN, brother-in-law, Kevyn Marmon of Wahpeton, North Dakota, her 3 grandchildren, Troy Jones (Kathy) of Lizella, Georgia, Mandy Quick (George) of Rentz, Georgia, and Carly (Jarrad) Mudderman of Stanley, North Dakota, and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2024, at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 19,2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Savior's Free Lutheran Church in Stanley, North Dakota, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Erin Tormanen will officiate.
