Graveside services for Dessie Corine Harrison, age 98, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 26, 2021 in Dublin Memorial Gardens with Bishop Cory Danner officiating.
Dessie Corine Cooper Harrison (Mama Rene) was born in Empire, Dodge County, Georgia on December 7, 1922 to Ray Pierce Cooper and Estelle Mullis. Corine was the third of seven children. Siblings in birth order were Jewell Barton, Hazel, Ray Pierce Jr, Ivelyn, William Bradley, and Dolly Jo. She is survived by her brother William Bradley Cooper (Joan) of Augusta, GA. Corine was living in Chester, GA when she met and married Bennie Ashley Harrison of Montrose, GA. They lived many years on their farm outside of Dudley, GA, later they moved with their youngest son to 202 Mecca Street, Dublin GA. They had four children--Bennie Ashley Harrison Jr. who passed away at one year of age, Dessie Yvonne (Otis Lord), Linda Sylvine (Schuyler Seeley), and Larry Edward (Susan Peters). She was blessed with 12 grandchildren; David Lord (Nancy), Tami Upshaw (Jody), Kevin Seeley (Cathy), Linda Baranowski (Bryan), Brent Seeley (Fiona), Lisa Gardner, Larry Seeley (Andrea), Ryan Seeley (Jenissa), Angie Ford (Chris), Larry Jr (Mary), Lindsay Boys (Ryan), and Matthew Harrison. She also had 41 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Corine worked many years as an Inventory Management Specialist at Robins Airforce Base in Warner Robins, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, and children Bennie Ashley Jr. and Dessie Yvonne Lord. After her retirement, she volunteered service as a Pink Lady at Fairview Park Hospital. She loved being outside working in her yard caring for her daylilies and hydrangeas. Mama Rene loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time talking about her life and sharing stories of her childhood. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She returned to her Father in Heaven and other members of her family on 23 February 2021.
