Donald Sylvester Hardy

Mr. Donald Sylvester Hardy, age 88, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at his residence surrounded by family.

Mr. Hardy was born December 2, 1937, in Hartford, Alabama. He was the son of the late L.C. Hardy and Hilda Broom Hardy. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gaynell Riley Hardy. He was a self-employed insurance agent for Boston Mutual. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church. He was a former Deacon and Hospitality Director at First Baptist Church of Atlanta before moving to Wrightsville nine years ago.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Worley Hardy of Wrightsville. His four sons, Steve Hardy (Betty Ann) of Duluth, Greg Hardy (Trinia) of Dacula, Michael Hardy (Ruth Ann) of Lawrenceville, and Chris Hardy (Crystal) of Dawsonville; a sister, Frances Gwaltney (Tommy); a sister-in-law, Faye Picket; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
