Dorothy Walker Clark was born to Luther J. and Callie Sumner Walker on November 25, 1920, in Spann, Georgia. She was the 7th born of 14 siblings. Mrs. Clark worked for seven years at Lovable Brassiere Company in Atlanta before marrying the love of her life in 1947 and moving back to Cedar Grove to help run their family farm. She was happily married to her "darling" Woodrow Clark for 56 years until his death in 2003. Although, they were not blessed with children of their own, they influenced the lives of many nieces and nephews and others. Their nephew, Monte Carter, was like a son to them. He and his wife, Pat, moved down from Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2012 to care for her. Mrs. Clark was a faithful member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther J. and Callie Sumner Walker; her beloved husband, Clayton Woodrow Clark; and seven brothers and three sisters. She is survived by one brother, Paul E. Walker of Dublin; two sisters, Ellen (Dewitt) Walker Phagan of Cedar Grove and Lorraine (Ernest) W. Jones of Danville; one nephew, Monte (Pat) Carter of Cedar Grove; three nieces Claire (Don) Jones of West Palm Beach, Florida, Gloria Moore of Rentz, and Willouise (Dick) Hamilton of Dublin; several great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Chad Burch, Jeffery Moore, Joe Burch, Tom Pezold, Edward Walker, Wayne Daniel, Brad Smith, and Reggie Faulk.
The family would like to give special thanks to Integrity Hospice; Claudia Frazier, her dedicated caretaker of many years; and Amy Frazier, Karen McRae, and Melsina Robinson who took excellent care of her these past few months.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Clark.
