Funeral services for Dottie Watson Moorman, age 87 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 14, 2019 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kelly Maddox, and Rev. Barbara Nelson will officiate.
Mrs. Moorman was born October 22, 1931 in Dublin, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Gladys Smith Watson. She was also preceded in death by her son, Marshall Gregg Moorman, Sr., and a brother, Bobby F. Watson. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She has been a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother for 69 years. When we think of love we think of her. She was retired from Oxford of Dublin for over 35 years, and then she went to work with the Laurens County Board of Education where she drove a bus for the special needs children. She was a woman of beauty and walked in God's Love. Mrs. Moorman passed away Friday, January 11, 2018 at Serenity Place following a brief illness.
Mrs. Moorman is survived by her husband, Bobby Moorman of Dublin, a daughter, Kathy Moorman (Mike) Skipper of Dublin, a sister, Marshie Watson Walker of Macon, 3 grandchildren, Skip (Hannah) Skipper, Gregg Moorman, Jr., and Deidre Byrd, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Van Moorman, Veal Moorman, Tommy Kight, Stuart Stanley, Ware Evans, Ted Bland, and Phil Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Hugh Johnson, and the Men of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the funeral home.
