Douglas Griswell

Funeral services for Edward Douglas Griswell, Jr., age 65, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Ron Bracewell will officiate. Mr. Griswell was born November 11, 1952 in Sandersville, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Edward Douglas Griswell, Sr. and Grace Wilson Griswell. He was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church and the Georgia Farm Bureau. He was self-employed as a farmer and a truckdriver and was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. Mr. Griswell passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca McNure Griswell of Wrightsville, a brother, Jimmy Griswell of Wrightsville, a sister, Carol (Gerald) Bloodworth of McIntyre, an aunt, Katherine Wilson of Irwinton, his nieces and nephews, Jimmy Harris Griswell, Casey Griswell Lord, Tara (Craig) Robinson, Gavin Daniel & Avery Robinson and his cousins, Wade Wilson, Sharon Moore, Jean (Joe) Williams and Brenda (Steve) Cardo and his mother-in-law, Barbara McNure. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, October 26, 2018 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Wade Wilson, Bill McNure, Rick McNure, Craig Robinson, Mike Logue and Glenn Mathis Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
