Earnest "Billy" Lee Ussery

Graveside funeral services for Earnest "Billy" Lee Ussery, age 85 will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 28, 2024, at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hutto and Rev. Robert Rogers will officiate.

Mr. Ussery was born February 18, 1939, in Alamo, Georgia. He was the son of the late Joseph "Doc" Edward Ussery and Annie Vera Wyatt Ussery. He was also preceded in death by his brother; James "Jim" Ussery. He attended and graduated from Lowery School in Southern Laurens County in 1957. He served in the United States Army and Georgia National Guard for 6 years where he served with the rank of Sergeant E-5. He married the love of his life Evelyn Moore on June 28, 1958. He retired from J.P. Stevens and Forstmann after 42 years of service. He also worked after retirement for 11 years with the Laurens County Tax Assessors Office. He was a member of Marie Baptist Church where he was a member of the Adult Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Ussery passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Ussery is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Moore Ussery of Dublin; 2 daughters, Terri Lynne (Joe) Raley of Adrian, and Sherri Lee (Mike) Howard of Dublin; 2 grandchildren, Colby Hunter Manning, and Brittany Howard (Christopher) Roof; 3 sisters-in-law, Telva Chafin, Marianne Moore, and JoAnn Moore; and a nephew, Jay (Helen) Ussery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. Monday, October 28, 2024, at Northview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Ussery to TLC Casa at P.O. Box 16322, Dublin, GA 31040.
