Funeral services for Mr. Earnest Lenard Reeves, age 79 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 16, 2015 at Dublin Church of God with interment to follow at Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene Cemetery. Pastor Steve Reeves and Rev. Steve Hardeman will officiate.
Mr. Reeves was born on April 28, 1936 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the son of the late Lenard David and Martha Marie Bennett Reeves. He was also preceded in death by his 2 daughters, Vickie Marie Watkins and Carol Darlene Reeves, a brother, Roy David Reeves, and a great grandchild, Brynlee Jade Wynn. He has lived in Laurens County for the past 30 years having moved from the Stockbridge - Jackson area. He was a member of the Dublin Church of God and was a self employed mechanic. Mr. Reeves passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Coliseum Medical Center.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his loving wife Marie T. Reeves of East Dublin,3 sons, Earnest Lenard (Tammy) Reeves, Jr. of Dublin, David "Squirrel" (Shelba) Reeves of East Dublin, and Tommy Reeves of Cleveland, 3 daughters, Robyn Reeves Mason of East Dublin, Jean (Buddy) Cox of Springfield, MO, and Shirley Reeves (Mike) Fortune of East Dublin, 3 brothers, Edward (Jane) Reeves of Jonesboro, Paul Reeves of Flowery Branch, and Pastor Steve (Patty) Reeves of Flovilla, 5 sisters, Ruby (Gene) Phillips of Stockbridge, Connie (Irvin) Burdette of Jasper, Gail (Robert) Rectenwald of Jasper, Carol (Mac) Callihan of Cleveland, and Elsie (Bob) Thomas of Flowery Branch, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Mason, Taylor Fortune, Billy Clark, Jason Clark, Charles Clark, and Brian Reeves.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the funeral home.
