Edward Melvin Price

Graveside services for Edward "Ed" Melvin Price, 91, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Ivey Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Holley, grandson Russ Tanner, and Rev. Phil Wilson officiating.

Mr. Price was born on August 17, 1931, in Wrightsville, Georgia. He was a member of Ivey Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and was active in the Brotherhood. He was a retired butcher for Central State Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Price and Vivian J. Roberts; brothers, Nealaus Price and William "Bo" Price; sister, Phyllis Santana; and his wife, Peggy Garrett Price. Mr. Price passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at his residence.

He is survived by his son, Roger (Carol) Price of Wrightsville; daughters, Patty Graybill, Kim (Edd) Tanner of Wrightsville, and Lisa (Randy) McCarty of Harrison; brother-in-law, Bobby Santana; sister-in-law, Hazel Price; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Danny Boykin, Wanda Foskey, Trad Price, and Lauren Hunter; and special extended family, including Pruitt Hospice members, Phyllis Harmon, Shirley Scott, Angela Brown, and Hazel Poole.

Pallbearers will be Danny Boykin, Trad Price, Joe Sumner, Dwain Sweat, Toby Tanner and McCoy Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Garnto, Charles Blackburn, Jerry Howell and the deacons, former deacons and pastors of Ivey Baptist Church.

The family will be at the Price residence at 25 Hillcrest St., Wrightsville, Georgia.
