Edwin "Eddie" Higgs, Sr.

Funeral services for Edwin "Eddie" Lee Higgs, Sr. age 74, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 10, 2025, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Curt Lysaker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Higgs was born on December 10, 1950, in Miami, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Higgs and Carolyn Strock Combs. He was a resident of Laurens County since 1981 and was an automotive technician. He worked for Dublin Cadillac for many years and was owner of Dublin Autocare. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved raising his kids, coaching their little league teams, and always being involved in their activities. His hobbies included playing pool, talking on the CB radio, fishing and hunting. Mr. Higgs passed away on January 7, 2025, at Wellstar Medical College of Georgia.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Debra Reid Higgs; 3 sons, Edwin Lee (Carla) Higgs, Jr., Jacob Higgs, and Henry (Callie) Higgs; sister, Linda (Troy) DeRosa; 2 brothers Wayne (Lois) Higgs and Gerald (Lesley) Higgs, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his faithful companion, Doc Holliday.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory.

Pallbearers will be Allan Higgs, Richard Higgs, Daniel DeRosa, Jon DeRosa, Cameron Ricks, Byron Higgs, Randall Tucker and Billy Elliott.
