Funeral services for Emory Eugene Davis, age 53, will be held at 3:30 P.M., Sunday, October 3, 2021, in Marie Baptist Church, 315 Marie Church Road, Dublin, Georgia with Rev. Bobby Hutto officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Emory was a loving husband, father, coach, and friend. He was born on July 28, 1968, in Hawkinsville, Georgia. He was employed as a teacher and coach with West Laurens Middle School, where he was a member of the School Crisis Team. He served 14 years in the Army National Guard where he was a Captain when he was discharged. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member and deacon of Marie Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Guyton Eugene Davis. Emory passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Meadows Regional Medical Center.
Emory is survived by his wife, Stacey Davis of Dublin, 3 children, Emily Davis, Coleton Davis, and Evan Davis of Dublin, mother, Ann S. Davis of Hawkinsville, 2 sisters, Melanie (Randy) Jones of Warner Robins and Kim Levin of Hawkinsville, sisters-in-law, Kathy (David) Peterson of Gray and Sheila Sharp of Vidalia, brother-in-law, Melvin Tapley of Vidalia, nephews, Trent (Brittani) Jones of Tucker, Justin (Amber) Jones of Warner Robins, Cameron Jones of Warner Robins, Jared Levin of Hawkinsville, and Connor Peterson of Gray, great nephews, Graysen Jones and Cal Jones, great niece, Indi Jones, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to recognize their extended family that brought so much joy to Emory, the West Laurens Middle School and High School Men's Soccer Team.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Dykes, Robert Lancaster, Teddy Call, Colby Taylor, Nate Smith, Jeremy Matthews, Brian Brown, and Dana Grinstead. Honorary pallbearers will be Trent Jones, Justin Jones, Cameron Jones, Reed Waldrep, Jason Thomas, Drew Davis, Eric Davis, Brian Henry, Wesley Weathington, and Leonard Bevill.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:15 P.M. Sunday, October 3, 2021, in the church prior to the service.
