Funeral services for Emory Clyde Edwards, age 59 will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 18, 2022, in the Richard N. Stanley, Jr. Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Riddleville. Rev. Robert Rogers and Rev. Joey Shurling will officiate. Mr. Edwards was born September 3, 1962, in Swainsboro, Georgia. He was the son of the late Lewis Edwards. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Hanson Edwards, a sister, Juanita Edwards, and 2 grandmothers, Mattie Dee Brantley, and Clyde Burris. He was the owner and operator of Edwards Trucking. He was of the Nazarene faith. Mr. Edwards passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Fairview Park Hospital. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Edwards of Adrian; a mother, Marlene Burris Edwards of Kite; 3 daughters, Jennifer (Daniel) Boston of Rentz, Jessica (Jason Smith) Edwards of Knoxville, TN, and Faith Elizabeth Edwards of Adrian; 2 sisters, Kathy (David) Hopkins of Kite, and Amy Duncan of Kite; and 5 grandchildren, Gabriel Boston, Virginia Boston, Skylar Boston, Isabella Smith, and Emory Smith. Pallbearers will be Daniel Boston, Jason Smith, Wes Page, Johnny Vescuso, Dan Hopkins, and T.J. Johnson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Friday, February 18, 2022, at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
